social media persona

Being a college student in today’s society is ever-changing. Networking today does not just have to be face-to-face. Now, networking occurs over multiple channels of communication. I use two platforms, LinkedIn and Instagram. Instagram allows me to showcase my personal and professional life. Social platforms have helped me with breaking into sports marketing by finding job opportunities and much more. Displayed to the left is my social media persona. As I evolved when it came to professionalism, I knew I wanted to display both sides of my personality that loves everything girly and another side that loves to explore new and developing ways women are dominating the sports industry in all aspects          . In the video, you will see how I implement these standards. I have a highlight on my Instagram page labeled “W.I.S.” This stands for women in sports. The particular sections show moments from sporting events I have worked at during my internship with the ODU athletic marketing department. I also displayed pages that I follow for motivation in the industry. One particular individual I follow who inspires me to never give up while in the field of sports is Nicole Lynn. Nicole works as the president of football operations at Klutch Sports Group . She is a top-ranking agent known to be the first black woman to represent an NFL draft pick with a $255 million contract.  I also follow Klutch Sports Group, this agency has been an inspiration for some time now when it comes to future career dreams. The last post shown in the video creation is a post I made at the end of the football season. Being a new intern, I knew it was important to capture every moment. Everything I experienced was not able to be posted due to confidentiality reasons. The pictures and videos I posted give a viewer an insight into the ODU football season from my point of view. Viewers are able to see my moments on the field, in between on-field game day presentations, to my moments on the roof of the priority suite. On the roof, I would sometimes be tasked with blowing the horn whenever there was a third down or touchdown. Being a part of the gameday atmosphere was very exciting for me. Social media allowed me to share special moments in my new chapter of life with friends and followers.
