For this discussion we were tasked with researching two jobs that interested us from this list:
50 Cybersecurity Titles That Every Job Seeker Should Know About
The two biggest disciplines that can be seen represented within this list are technology and security. For all of the jobs on this list, it can be seen just from the job titles that knowledge in either of these fields is crucial. There are many other disciplines that can be seen depending on the job. For example, a cybersecurity lawyer will need extensive knowledge of the law as well as the technical knowledge needed in the cybersecurity field. The first job I chose to research was the Digital Forensics Analyst position. According to CISA, someone in this position will investigate cyber incidents and evaluate digital evidence for information. This job requires knowledge of processing digital forensic data and the software tools used to accomplish this task. This job also requires many different skills such as the ability to analyze all kinds of code and data as well as the skill to perform this task in any environment whether it’s a Linux server, Windows laptop, or even a mobile phone. The second job I researched was the Information Security Analyst position. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this role is responsible for planning and implementing security measure’s to protect an organization’s computer networks and data. Someone in this position will require a lot of technical knowledge to build a system, as well as knowledge about policy and law as well. For example, depending on the data an organization handles, there might be certain requirements that need to be met by law. My biggest surprise was honestly how broad the requirements are for an Information Security Analyst anywhere I looked.
