There are many overlaps between criminal justice and cyber security. Criminal justice and cyber security both deal with battling against malicious threats. Criminal justice can even use cyber security to track down criminals they are looking for. A lot of crime happens online so that deals with criminal justice and cyber security both. A worldwide known hacker could be hacking into many networks and causing a lot of losses for businesses and companies. Criminal justice would track down this hacker using cyber security and tracing what they do and blocking what they do online and eventual lead them to the hackers front door. There needs to be cyber security in place of criminal justice not only for catching hackers and malicious evil doers, but to protect their own systems from hackers. There are a lot of important files and data in the criminal justice world that is confidential and needed to be protected. Without cyber security these files could be stolen and allow criminal justice workers to lose work and lose greater things as well. Being able to identify what someone is doing online, what their plans or goals are, and finding out who they are is all thanks to cyber security. Cyber security allows criminal justice workers to find out and identify the threat and who they are dealing with. It also allows criminal justice workers to prepare for an attack, set up traps, minimize losses, and recover any lost data or files. Without cyber security, criminal justice would not be as efficient or work at all. Majority of crime happens or starts online, so cyber security allows those workers to be there online and shut down the malicious threats caused by hackers. Cyber security doesn’t have to be all about defending, it could have something to do with attacking too. This way criminal justice workers can not only defend networks and people, but attack the hackers and track them down.
