I am a senior at Old Dominion University, where I major in health administration. I am currently completing my internship at the YMCA on Granby. The YMCA is a non profit organization that addresses critical needs within the community, such as providing kids with the help they need to develop into smart, refill at adults. Their mission is “to utilize Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. With that, strengthening the community.” My preceptor, Dr. Joseph Rampersad serves as the Executive Director for the Granby YMCA. Dr. Joseph Rampersad holds a PHD in public health with a concentration in community health. Prior to his position he served as a Department Chair of Health & Wellness.
