- Study Habits
The classes I’m doing well in are Sociology and My women’s gender and tech classes. I really have a great interest in those classes and the workload isn’t really heavy. The one class I really need assistance with is chemistry, ever since I was in high school that subject was the only one I really struggled with. The only change I made was the amount of time I spend but I am currently looking into online tutoring and better studying strategies.
- Transition to College
My expectations coming into college were to meet new people and to work on my time management skills. The only expectation that came to fruition was meeting new people but I’m still working on my time management skills which is coming along pretty well. I took more time being social and coming out of my dorm to do things on campus. The food is what surprised me the most this semester because I didn’t think I’d get tired of it so fast. My toughest challenge with moving away to college was leaving my little sister behind because we had each other’s backs. The easiest challenge to overcome was all of this walking.
- Major
One thing I learned was that I didn’t know so many students apply for the dental hygiene program. My feelings have been a total rollercoaster the constant ups and downs whether I wanna change my major, what if I don’t get in when I apply the first time, or How am I going to afford all of the equipment for my major? There is another subject that I’m interested in learning more about and it is psychology which I am currently minoring in now.
- Connecting to Campus
One problem I encountered this semester was debating if I wanted to transfer to a different university and Mrs. Nikki had helped me out. One of my classmates had helped me out this semester with chemistry. Every time I hit a bump in the road with chemistry she is always there to help me understand it better. I haven’t attended an interest meeting due to working after classes.
