Describe four ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals.

Ethics, in a broad sense, refers to how humans define the way to best live. In a work setting, this could be formulated into formal codes/standards that all members of a certain work profession are held to, such as medical or legal ethics. Technological ethics has been increasingly shaping how humans seek to better their life. Well-designed technologies can make lives for humans much simpler, such as food, water, and medical care. Rounding back to cybersecurity, there are many ethical issues that have risen since the digital age. Privacy and confidentiality, security breaches, system implementation, and data inaccuracies are some of the many issues this new age has brought along with it. Privacy and confidentiality, in my opinion, is that largest concern that has risen when storing electronic information about individuals. A counterattack to this problem is the implementation of information security. This helps to protect information and systems from unauthorized access, disclosure, and destruction in order to provide customers confidentiality. Due to ever evolving threats, information security requires continuous monitoring to quickly identify and respond to threats. Security breaches are another major threat concerning the storing of information in the cyber field. From insider threats to malicious hackers, information is always trying to be broken into and stolen away. Employees always pose a threat of being an insider man and using their authorized access to obtain customers information. Hackers, on the other hand, understand systems and networkings and illegally access them to cause damage and steal information. Being able to identify the motivation to an attack by either an employee or outside source helps implement proper security controls to prevent further attacks from happening. System implementations are another major concern towards storing information about individuals. The development, implementation, and maintenance of cyber infrastructures is costly and time consuming. You need adequate funds in order to protect your customers information around the clock. interfaces are critical to overall success in keeping information protected. It is also the greatest issue because failure in the system can be practically invisible. A poorly designed interface issues decreased response time and poor quality of service. Data inaccuracies is the last major issue when facing the trials of protecting customer information. Errors and omission can be inadvertently cause when thousands of transaction create and edit data. These errors degrade the data and system integrity. No matter how strong the software application, they are not capable of detecting every input error and must be manually looked over.
