Welcome fellow readers, I will be selecting four other majors offered by ODU and explaining how those majors relate to cybersecurity. These are some of the four majors that Old Dominion University offers that relate to Cybersecurity. The four majors are Cybercrime, criminal justice, cyber operations, and Enterprise Cybersecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First and foremost, Old Dominion University offers Cyber Crime (Interdisciplinary Studies, Bachelor of Science). Cyber Crime is for students and or occupations that want to be in the law enforcement and information technology field. Students\/ Occupations are required to have excellent writing skills, strong oral communication skills and lastly since it is Information Technology based it involves mathematics skills and logic skills. While taking cybersecurity courses, students in this field will take in knowledge about cybersecurity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Secondly, Old Dominion University also offers Criminal Justice (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science). Criminal Justice gives \u201cthree main elements of the justice system: the courts, policing and corrections. The study of criminal justice and corrections involves research methods for criminology, criminological theory, and the psychology behind criminal behavior.\u201d Criminal Justice professionals deal with cybercrime which kicks back to the first major cybersecurity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thirdly, Old Dominion University offers Cyber Operations (Interdisciplinary Studies, Bachelor of Science). Cyber Operations \u201cbalances theory, practice and hands-on labs inspired by real-life scenarios. Skills and competencies emphasized are in system attack, infiltration, exploitation, defense, mitigation, and recovery.\u201d Cyber Operations is also a \u201ccomplementary discipline to Cybersecurity.\u201d Cyber Operations upholds a \u201cparticular emphasis on technologies and techniques applicable to all operational and system levels.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lastly, Old Dominion University also offers Enterprise Cybersecurity (Information System & Technology, Bachelors of Science and Bachelor of Arts). Enterprise Cybersecurity helps students with a technical background in cyber technology. Enterprise Cybersecurity offers \u201ca broad perspective of the business environment in which cybersecurity plays a critical role.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In conclusion, these four majors participate and relate back to cybersecurity because just how cybersecurity protects information these other majors either protects, stops, or punishes those who try to take something from others or put in harm’s way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
