Four other majors that relate to cybersecurity that are offered by ODU would: Computer science, Information technology, cyber-operations computer-engineering and IT management. Computer science involves the study of computers and programming languages; whereas, cybersecurity is the focus of computer and networks vulnerabilities and how to protect and defend them from digital attacks. A specific task a Computer scientist will do is develop a new website. Website development is a line of work where a computer science and cybersecurity align. Any website that is created will need to protect its hardware and data functions. Cyber-operations is a range of actions executed within the digitial realm to tests the safety of computer networks, systems or information. The types of operations can be broadly categorized as defensive and offensive operations. This field of world relates to cyber security because it is the practice and study of detecting weakness within network systems; on the other hand there is the defensive side that seeks attacks in prep of real circumstances. Information technology. Cybersecurity is an IT component, therefore these two fields of work work hand in hand often. Information technologist may deal with IT security and need assistance of an more specialized security analyst. Computer engineers also work closely with cyber security by building on their design and tests to attach cyber defenses to the infrastructures. IT management is practically the same as a general IT association job when working with cyber security, except a IT manager may operate the specific task and structure the task at hand for all working towards on the job. Whereas one the ones who are doing the hands on work will follow specific orders from the managers. I think each of these majors relate to cyber security and those who work in these fields work with cybersecurity a lot of the time because both need one another.
