Describe three ways that computers have made the world safer and less safe?

Computers and their growth in technology has made many improvements to society that has left humanity in a better place but it has also introduced many hazards. My first thought of computers making the world safer is by using software that allows location tracking. This feature is used by many families across the globe and the reason that I mention it is for the use of protection. Young women often feel unsafe when they are alone, with strangers, or sometimes even with their friends so they use this feature in the event of something going wrong. Parents will also enable this feature on their child’s device in case their child is lost or kidnapped so that way they have something that could lead them back to their child. Another feature is the GPS. This feature I believe to be crucial to modern technology. People these days love to travel and most of them do not have the resources nor the safety to be able to read a paper map. With modern technology they are able to follow the voice of the GPS hands free, which I imagine to lead to less car accidents. Another way that technology makes the world safe is through surveillance. This can either be to protect a store from thieves (whether locating them through facial recognition or scaring numbers of them off) or by holding certain systems accountable when they attempt to lie. I am referencing the police system and how citizens need to force body cam footage in order to reveal evidence to save a person or convict their murderer.  On the other hand, computers and its technology have given the rise to hackers, identity thieves, and the black market. Hackers are able to take the advancements of technology and turn it for something bad such as stealing confidential information and exploiting it. Identity thieves often hack into systems to steal someone’s information and impersonate them. They also can do this by going to their victim and convincing them to send personal information, this can be known as phishing. The Black Market is a conversation in it’s own, but I will say technology has given them a chance to find buyers and resources by hiding behind fake information on the internet.
