Self – regulation is personal management guiding one’s feelings, thought and reactions. While emotional intelligence is when people are able to recognize their emotions and the emotions of others and label them appropriately by facial expressions. I think people are able to manage their feelings or reactions once they recognize the emotion they are experiencing. Self – recognition and emotional intelligence go hand in hand. An example of how I display emotional intelligence is when my heart starts racing and I clench my my jaw really hard and take a deep breath, I know that I am angry or frustrated. I can improve this by not changing the subject or judging my feelings too quickly.
