How should we approach the development of cyber-policy and -infrastructure given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge?

Given the short arm of predictive knowledge, we should be able to approach the development of cyber-policy and infrastructure with the kind of mindset that anything can really happen at any time. If you own a small business and do not have any valuable data or information for hackers, a cyber policy may not be right for you just yet. However, when conducting business that involves the private information of customers, it is critical to keep these things in mind. Any kind of attack can occur at any time, so it is best to be prepared for this kind of scenario, as it can harm a company’s reputation. Having the proper infrastructure in place can also provide a business with safety and comfort by reducing the likelihood of being hacked by any cyber attackers. Furthermore, if you provide a cyber program within your business to educate individuals on how to avoid these kinds of situations, it can go a long way for the business and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Businesses that do not even consider the possibility of a cyber policy or any kind of infrastructure, in my opinion, lack vision for their operations. It is very critical to protect the systems that keep a business running if one wishes for it to be successful. The price of a cyberattack on a business can be prohibitively expensive, especially when compared to the cost of proper cyber security measures. The effect of a breach on a company can be extremely damaging to its health and confidence. Overall, I believe that a company can still be successful even without the correct infrastructure, but I feel like a business’s long-term success and reputation can be sustained through the development of cyber-policy and infrastructure, as this is what keeps the business running smoothly.
