In the modern world everything we do has been changed in some form by the rise of cyber technology. One of the things it has impacted are the interactions between offenders and their victims. With the advent of cyber technology offenders can now carry out crimes digitally. In the past most crimes would be committed face to face with the victim. The exception would be something like a home invasion when nobody was home. In the past a robbery would usually be done physically to the victim. This might have caused the victim to become more paranoid and lose confidence in themselves. For example if they were robbed while walking outside they might become fearful of being outside by themselves or fearful of being outside in general. On the other hand, getting robbed online probably will not affect your mental health as much as in person. Cyber technology has changed the way people are victimized in crime in todays world. People can fall victim to a crime and not even be aware of it till days later. This happens cause many people don’t know what to look for or what are red flags for making them selves an at risk target of these types of cyber crime. Both types of crimes are punishable and the court will not see much of a difference between the two. One way to improve cyber security is to teach people so they know what to look for in order to not fall victim to cybercrimes or if they do they can recognize it fast and put a stop to it. Cyber crimes will continue to become more and more popular as times goes on and even though they aren’t face to face crimes they can be just as damaging and scaring as face to face crimes and make people feel like they have lost their sense of security.
