About Me

My name is Jacob Schwartz, and I am a Mechanical Engineering Technology major at Old Dominion University. At ODU, I have and continue to understand the world of engineering, and how it could be applied to my future works.

In Fluid Mechanics (MET 330), I have grasped how fluids are used and measured throughout our daily lives, and how they affect us. For example, I always knew there was a force on those swimming in a lazy river, but to be able to calculate and understand that really enlightens me. Being able to understand these concepts and solve real world problems related to them, is how I know the concept is being grasped.

Outside of classes, I am extremely active in other clubs and groups that help me develop other skills and traits that may not have a direct relation to engineering. I am a brother in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, currently running all our social media and website, as well as keeping records for our chapter. I am also the starting goalkeeper for the ODU Men’s Club Soccer team, and aid in their social media work, as well as being a captain! I love being a leader for these organizations, and try to hold those around me to the best standards possible.
