{"id":6,"date":"2025-02-02T17:33:26","date_gmt":"2025-02-02T17:33:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/student.wp.odu.edu\/jmack018\/?p=6"},"modified":"2025-02-02T13:44:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-02T18:44:04","slug":"week-2-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/student.wp.odu.edu\/jmack018\/2025\/02\/02\/week-2-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 2 Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Explain how the principles of science relate to cybersecurity.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Relativism- The concept that all things are related<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Objectivity- Scientists need to be neutral, not opinion based<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>when doing studies or research<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Parsimony- Keeping scientific explanations as simple as<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Empiricism- Scientists can only study things that are real to the<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>senses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Ethical Neutrality- Ethical standards must be adhered when<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>conducting research<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>Determinism- A principle of science that means behavior, is<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>caused by preceding events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As some of the principles do closely relate to cybersecurity while some don\u2019t. Determinism is one that goes great with cyber security because that can be as simple as a company striving to upgrade security or preventing any breaches.
