There are several majors at ODU that are related to cyber security and or have some dependency in cyber security. I believe the four most interconnected majors to cyber security are Computer Science/engineering, Business, Mechanical Engineering, & Civil engineering. Computer science relates to cyber security because it essentially is the development and improvement of computer hardware and software. The components found in these devices are directly responsible for the very basis of any kind of cyber security implementation. Without  these computers and without the engineers and scientists always looking to improve upon these technologies cyber security would have never even come into fruition. Another and very obvious major that cyber security impacts is business. The way businesses grow and operate has changed drastically over the last 50 years. Before the age of computers businesses would have to advertise via word of mouth or through news paper however with the advent of computer driven technology business can now advertise and accept payments via the cloud. There are clear reasons for how cyber security helps protect business. Cyber security helps prevent businesses from being hacked into and having their profits stolen. Another sub category of business is finance. Businesses that are involved in banking or investing depend heavily on cyber security technology to keep their money safe and the data of their customers safe. Mechanical Engineering is related to cyber security based on the fact that it is focused on designing parts and pieces for which computer components go into in the physical this is important because without them computers could not be constructed and protected properly. Civil engineering is related to cyber security because in order to protect a firm or an organization from physical attack there  must be proper physical barriers in place to keep this from happening civil engineering ensures that any kind  of physical attack will be minimized based on how the compound for protecting the data is constructed.
