When storing an individual’s information several factors can play into the ethics behind the action. However four of the most prominent issues are the privacy, security, accuracy of data, and system management. Privacy is important because it is a fundamental requirement in order to gain the trust necessary to store the data to begin with. In a business sense the customer will more often times than not want to know the full extent to which their privacy will be kept. This way they can sleep peacefully at night knowing that their information isn’t being sold to other companies and or people. Security is important because the last thing you’d want as a cyber security professional is to have a hacker getting ahold of any sensitive information that could cause financial chaos for a customer and or put that customer’s life at risk. System implementation is important because if the system is not functioning properly availability cannot be garunteed. If availability isn’t possible the information cannot be accessed. If the information is not available this could cause problems for both the customer and the company entrusted with the customer’s information. Data accuracy is important because in order to ensure that the customer’s data is correct there must be a bench mark. If there is no way to measure the accuracy of information that is being stored a customer could make a false claim that they had more or money in a certain account and there would be no way to verify that they are telling the truth or lying.
