Engineers make cyber networks safer by designing and implementing technology that is used to make them harder to access by un authorized parties. Engineers who work in cyber security are responsible for some of the most technologically advanced systems used to protect online data. From facial recognition, to firewalls, to two factor authentication, Engineers are responsible for these improvements in cyber security. Additionally cyber security engineers are the ones that primarily push for upkeep and improvement among the systems in the network to make them harder to breach by hackers or malware. They will often create updates to the systems which are already in place making the system even more secure. Another tool cyber security engineers use is attack monitoring systems. These systems show the engineers how the system was attacked and what the system needs for future attacks to be repelled. This ability also allows them to come up with ways to adequately protect the network in ways they may not have previously been expecting. Simply put an engineer working in cyber security is always learning and always improving upon the knowledge that they have already acquired.
