How do engineers make cyber networks safer? – An engineer is an important part of cyber networks because of what they do. For an example, a cybersecurity engineer have the responsibility of protecting the networks and systems of an organization against threats from cyber attackers in cyberspace. Some of their functions are: 1. Performing assessments and penetration testing, 2. Development and implementation of secure network solutions, 3. Architecting and engineering trusted systems into secure systems, 4. Managing audit/intrusion and security technology systems. Another example is a network security engineer. Network security engineers have the responsibility of maintaining a network’s infrastructure to ensure that all users, programs, and devices have a safe and secure space to operate. Network security engineers are cybersecurity specialists who defend the network system from malfunctions, misuse, or destruction. They do this by installing virus protections, test the network for weak points, and create safety protocols to prevent future breaches. Routers, firewalls, and network-monitoring tools are a couple of the tools that a network security engineer uses to defend the network from internal and external threats.
