the introduction and constant evolution of cyber technology has impacted the relationship and interactions between offenders and victims in a number of different ways. one big impact in the interactions involves the elimination of distance between the two groups of people. Being common knowledge at this point, cyber technology such as the internet and computers has made people more connected and than ever before. and with this connectivity comes a number of interactions between people, the nature of alot of these interactions being rather negative. When it comes to the internet and victimization, there is seemingly no escape from the offender since as long as you are accessing the internet, these offenders will always have the potential to reach you. Another impact to note is the increasingly personal aspect to these interactions. for much of human history, a person or group of people only know as much as you were willing to share, but with the invention of technology such as social media, that reality as changed. We now live in a world where a large majority of people put all their business and daily lives out in the public space for all to see. And for the information that is more private, it still exists out there in the internet in a database that can always be hacked into. So if an offender such as a hacker was to target a individual, hack into his online accounts and confront him, the Hacker could potentially have a huge amount of personal information to threaten the victim with. Another impact to look at is the sense of paranoia cyber technology can instill in victims. the internet is large and vast place, and despite being in connection with so many people, these are people that you can never look in the eye. The majority of these people appear as nothing more than a picture and a text. so a hacker can easily take advantage of that fact and hack into the account of someone personal to the victim and pretend to be them in order to gain trust. not only can he do that, but he also has the potential to hack into the victims very own personal accounts and go around pretending to be them, a act that could lead to very serious situations
