One of the most important aspects of using a computer or any other device with internet access is making sure that its safe. But one cant hope to accomplish that if they don’t even know how to identify if a problem exists or not. one main way to tell if your computer is safe or not is observing your computer with the naked eye. if its your computer and you use it on a daily basis, you know or at the very least have a baseline level of expectation when it comes to how your computer looks and behaves. So the best way to make sure that your computer is safe is looking for anything out of the ordinary. For example, Keep note of how fast your computer is moving when it comes to loading up websites or documents. if there is nefarious things on your computer, it can effect your computers processing speed. another example is making sure everything on your main desktop screen looks normal and there are no random ad pop ups. Another example is keeping track of your email. if you notice is there is a mass amount of emails being sent to and from your email address than there is a good chance that hackers have gotten a hold of your email address or account. Another big example to is making sure your computer your computer password has not been compromised. if you enter your account information and you see that it has been changed there’s a chance that it has fallen into the hands of a hacker. Now because there are many things that go on behind the scenes with computers and the internet, there’s going to be things that a person just isn’t going to be able to detect. that’s why we have anti-virus/malware software programs. a good way to make sure that your computer is safe is making sure your anti-virus software is constantly updated and is constantly running scans to make sure the computer is safe and to immediately alert you when its safety has been compromised.
