The fifth worst crime is faking your identity on the internet as while identity theft is a crime that carries serious consequences, it is also a crime that\u2019s been made easier to spot and stop with verification check marks and proper research. The next worst crime is the act of trolling as, while it can be serious cyberbullying that genuinely harms the targeted individual(s), most trolls are lighthearted pranksters who often know where the line is between legal and illegal in most circumstances. The third worst is using other people\u2019s network information as the use of their Wi-Fi can not only cause their speed to worsen because of your theft, it can also land them in trouble depending on what you search\/ download. That leads into the second worst crime: illegal searches. While most of those searches are successfully blocked, many people know how to get around the filters and find the illegal material they are looking for. Depending on the type of information that is (especially if it revolves around harming children), it can violate many different laws and see yourself into many years in prison. The absolute worst, however, is sharing private information about other people including their address, photos, passwords, etc. \u201cDoxxing,\u201d as it is known, is one of the worst things any individual can do over the internet as it completely violates another person\u2019s privacy and, depending on the severity and the nature of the doxx, can make individuals fear for their safety. In cases, doxxing has led to deaths of individuals as the \u201ctroll\u201d of calling the police about a fake situation at the doxxed user\u2019s address (known as \u201cSwatting\u201d) can lead the authorities to believe the individual is dangerous and act in \u201cself-defense.\u201d Doxxing is the worst crime because it enables aspects of many others types of cybercrime as well as having the potential consequence of death to the individual who was doxxed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
