Journal Summary Three

editing-skills-checklist-for-mapping-1-3Each journal and essay I have written this semester has helped me learn my strengths and weaknesses with my writing. Seeing where I usually mess up in my essays was the best thing because I have to write papers for almost every class I am taking and am going to take. Currently, I am still working on making a better thesis statement. It has been very difficult because I wasn’t really taught how to write a good thesis statement or how to properly build up to one. Another thing I have learned to work on is the flow of my essay and my use of transition words. As for my errors concerning sentence structure, I would say it is a work in progress. Sometimes, It is hard for me to understand when I have a full thought and decide to stop the sentence. Other times I mess up is when I miss a pause after a word. My last major problem is checking back over my essays for grammatical errors. In each essay I have written I have stayed consistent with having enough or more than enough content in my paragraphs. Another thing that I am good at is my conclusion. My first sentence always sums up the article, followed by topics to talk about and support for them. As far as Eportfolio, it has been an easy website to access and use. It gives a little insight on us and the webpage when you first open it up. It also allows people to access my journals and other information about myself. The Eportfolio has made it easier to map out and see where my biggest issues are. Also, it lets me see that I have been making progress. Through out the course, I have seen my progression with my thesis statement and grammatical errors.
