Security engineers play a crucial role in protecting computer and networking systems from cyber-attacks and any potential hacker. the engineers create new cyber networks and continually update them to protect any weak spots that they find. Engineers also install new and different firewall detection systems onto any particular device that contains sensitive data. They perform accurate testing, security assessments, analysis, investigate any new or past intrusions, and evaluate new technology component to make sure that it has the proper protection and security. Overall, engineers make cybersecurity networks safer by creating new and better cyber networks, making it hard for hackers or unauthorized users to access personal information.
The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is becoming more and more common as time goes on. In the world we live in today, crime is being more and more committed online rather than in person.
This trend means that it is rather impossible that cyber-crime and criminal justice to not overlap. The most common prime example of them overlapping is use of the dark web. The dark web makes it possible for people to sell and steal cards and identities of people. This example is against the law and is still punishable with jail time even though it was not a face-to-face crime.
Another major way that cyber-crime and criminal justice is physical as well. (Just because it is a cyber-crime does not mean there is no physical evidence of that crime happening.) The way that they get physical evidence of somebody doing a cybercrime is by the hard drive. By using the hard drive in court, they are able to see the stolen or criminal activity being used right in front of them, giving them access to each specific crime committed.
As technology increases the chances of cyber-crime and criminal justice overlapping is going to skyrocket. The need for professionals in cybercrime will be increased severely as we will need them to identify new crimes that are going to be committed. This also increases the need for professionals in cybersecurity to ensure protection against new ways crimes will be developed.
