Crucial cell in Biomedical Science field

I’mIvan. I’m majoring in Biomedical Science and I’m highly interested in the development of body prosthetics to serve people with disabilities or debilitating conditions. With this in mind, it’s unthinkable to make a device to support our body’s locomotion without first thinking about the skeletal system. Osteocytes are immensely important in the skeletal system and overall homeostasis due to their regulatory function. Some of the Osteocytes key functions is regulating bone density and strength, regulating the amount of nutrients stored in the bone, regulating the amount of bone that’s broken down to supply the body’s nutrient needs, among others. Thus, osteocytes come to be a crucial cell in the Biomedical Sciences field
