After completing the Social Media Disorder scale I met 2 out of the 9 criteria that was asked. Which means that I don’t fall under a diagnosis of “disordered social media user”. The items on the scale are reasonable questions as I have seen other individuals personally experience those things because of social media. I think different patterns are found across the world with social media and terms of disorder because it’s utilized differently in many ways depending on the country. Also, now everyone may value digital media the same in their walk of life. Me personally since graduating high school, I’ve understood that social media isn’t much of a priority and from a cybersecurity standpoint, I don’t want to jeopardize myself with putting out information I can keep to myself.
