This is common method used in phishing scams to convince people who aren&#8217;t looking close enough. The red flags that you should watch out for are a misspelled URL, lack of HTTPS and typically a poorly designed interface compared to the real site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fake: Citiprimebank.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Real: Citibank.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fake site uses the word &#8220;prime&#8221; which might sway people who are unfamiliar with the original website. This may make the website appear exclusive or premium which can lure unsuspecting people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fake: Faceb00k.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Real: Facebook.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to the amazon example, this fake site replaces the &#8220;oo&#8221;s in facebook with zeros.
