Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs provides a framework for understanding how technology affects of basic human needs. At the most basic level, technology supports our physiological needs with the use of food delivery and grocery apps and health tracking apps. I use Grubhub and Doordash occasionally to deliver food this way. My apple watch can detect if I’m are at risk for a heart condition by measuring irregular heart rates. Technology also enhances our safety with the easily accessible 911 phone calls, you can have home security systems that provide protection from intruders and get alerts from your smartphone. Digital platforms have also changed the way we connect and form communities, video calls allow you to have face to face communication anywhere in the world. I use discord to chat with communities and make friends, you can find a lot of people to play games with. The highest level that technology can grant us is the ability to express ourselves and reach a fuller potential, access to creative software like Sony Vegas and FL studio. FL studio is an amazing tool that I use regularly to express musical concepts and contributes to my self fulfillment.
