The principles of science relate to cybersecurity mostly in the scientific method. It is a similar process to find vulnerabilities as it is to find how a dependent variable is affected by an independent variable. You perform a lot of testing in the scientific method and a lot of pen testing in cybersecurity. Both fields require you to collect data in order to analyze and find patterns, this is helpful in cybersecurity to find vulnerabilities and in science to come to a conclusion. The heavy emphasis on data also carries over when you are monitoring network traffic and using logging software on systems. Science and cybersecurity also rely on peer review and collaborating in order to strengthen one’s knowledge and in the case of cybersecurity, become stronger against cyber threats.
