Cybertechnology can create opportunities that cause harm to the organization. Workplace environments are oftentimes under-protected and don’t have he necessary measures of protection until after an incident has occurred, and by this time it’s too late. There are many causes for incidents, such as virus outbreaks or malware infections. Another major threat to the workplace is targeted attacks. According to (Kaspersky Lab & Business Advantage, n.d.), “Targeted attacks were in fact the second biggest actual threat to systems and caused incidents in over a third of companies.” Businesses may feel like they are externally protected, but they might not be internally protected. It is important that businesses learn about their risks and vulnerabilities while not underestimating that chances of incidents occurring.
