Select four other majors offered by ODU and explain how those majors relate to cybersecurity.

1. Computer science- This major relates to Cybersecurity because it provides a foundation in programming, computer systems, and technology which is a solid building block for cyber security.
2. Information Technology- Focuses on up keep and maintenance of computers, laptops, software’s, operating systems, etc. Which are all very crucial in the world of Cybersecurity.
3. Psychology- I say this because psychology is the study of the mind and behavior and it embraces all aspects of the human experience. This is exactly what Cybersecurity is except just in the cyber world or space.
4. Criminal justice- Criminal justice requires a process of questions such as how do we detect these offenses?, Prevention strategies, what are the consequences? All of these questions could also be applied to the world of cyber security when facing phish attacks or other cyber attacks.

All of these majors relate to cybersecurity in their own ways. The first to relate because they are still in the world of technology while the last 2 relate by the concept not necessarily the field. Comparing cybersecurity to something like criminal justice is not to far off because at the end of the day a cybersecurity analyst is fighting cyber crime while the criminal justice major is doing the same thing just in a different field. I personally believe that the most relatable one would more than likely be Information technology for they simple fact that it is based on computer systems and technical devices which is also the same playing field for cyber security as well.
