Hello everyone! My name is Halden Brubaker, I’m majoring in Nursing Post-Licensure (RN to BSN). I recently moved to Alexandria, VA last November and I have been an RN since 2018. I currently work in CVICU at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, and just completed my 12 week orientation to CVICU this past Wednesday. So far I am loving all the new knowledge and experience I’m gaining, and I’m surrounded by some incredible nurses, surgeons, and providers. Prior to CVICU I was an ICU traveler for 2 years. I enjoyed that experience as well. I am looking to complete my BSN next Fall and my goal is to apply to CRNA programs. Although it is very competitive from what I hear, I hope to get into CRNA school within the next 5 years and I am going to give it my best shot!

I recently moved to Alexandria with my girlfriend and our dog, and we have a roommate. We live in Old Town Alexandria, which is beautiful and full of fun things to do. Long walks, trips to the park, bike rides, and trying new restaurants are some of my favorite activities outside of work. I enjoy playing watching movies, listening to music, going to the gym, and playing video games in my free time outside of work and school as well. I have recently attempted to pick up golf as a hobby, and try to stay active with that as well. Good luck to everyone in the course!
