The easiest major to start with would be the cybersecurity and cyber operations majors.  These are the two majors that are most closely related to cybersecurity, with one being named after it.  In the cybersecurity major, students can learn both sides of the coin, meaning how the attackers can get in and what the defenders can do to prevent the attackers. Cyber operations is very similar to cybersecurity, but focuses more heavily on the programming aspect of computer science than the cybersecurity major does. Another major which is related to cybersecurity is the Information Systems & Technology major. This major is in the school of business but focuses heavily on how the business world is becoming increasingly reliant on technology, just as the rest of the world is.  It does not go as in depth as the cybersecurity or cyber operations majors do, but it will give a good baseline for those students within this major to be able to have enough knowledge to keep up with how quickly technology advances in today’s world.  Computer science is a third major that is very involved in the cybersecurity world.  As the world continues to become more technologically advanced, the need for computer scientists will continue to increase.  This major focuses on the development and programming side of things and this is key in cybersecurity because there are always new avenues of attack that arise, so computer scientists are the ones who attempt to create new applications and programs that can combat the offenders. And one more major that relates directly to cybersecurity is criminal justice.  As more and more crime begins to happen over cyberspace, the two disciplines of criminal justice and cybersecurity will overlap more because both fields will be necessary to prevent and apprehend criminals.  As I said before, the world is becoming more technologically advanced, and the attackers always seem to be a step ahead, therefore different fields will begin to collide and collaborate in order to make a more effective team.
