Language in itself is a bunch of symbols that humans use to communicate ideas to one another. Some of them last a while, but when a country gets taken over and the people are forced to learn a new series of symbols, the language is lost. This is what happened to Latin. The countries kept taking over Latin speaking countries and transferring their languages to the people and eventually people stopped speaking Latin and adapted to the new symbols. That is why the romance languages take after Latin, they adapted to some of the languages before they changed the people’s tongue completely. Spanish, French, German, and Italian are the four main romantic languages. It makes sense when it is thought about a lot.
