The four majors I chose to relate to cybersecurity are Information systems, data science, electrical engineering, and criminal justice. While all of these may seem different, each intertwines with one another. Students majoring in information systems acquire skills in database management, information security, and business processes, which are directly relevant to cybersecurity techniques. Proper digital information management, organization, and protection are essential for effective cybersecurity. Data science is essential to cybersecurity because it entails analyzing and safeguarding massive amounts of information. Threat detection and response often depend on data analysis and machine learning. To make sense of the large amounts of data generated in the cybersecurity landscape, data science offers a variety of techniques and tools. Effectively detecting, responding to, and mitigating cyber threats is made possible for organizations. In building safe systems and defending against cybersecurity threats, electrical engineering covers hardware components, therefore knowing the hardware side of computers is crucial. More areas where electrical engineering and cybersecurity overlap include designing secure communication methods and safeguarding crucial infrastructure. Professionals with backgrounds in electrical engineering are well-equipped to tackle problems in cybersecurity. When addressing cybercrimes, criminal justice, and cybersecurity interact. It is crucial for this discipline to comprehend the legal ramifications of cyber investigations, digital forensics, and cyber law. These fields work together to protect people and businesses from online dangers and make sure that cybercriminals are held responsible for their acts. These majors offer a comprehensive education that adds to the wide range of skills required in the field of cybersecurity. To effectively secure information and digital assets from changing threats, cybersecurity requires comprehending the bigger picture, which includes legal, ethical, and business factors. Professionals from varied backgrounds working together improve an organization’s overall cybersecurity capability. The multidisciplinary nature of cybersecurity is made up of these and many more fields, they all work together to help people.
