After receiving back my final and last paper for the semester, I was relieved because we didn’t have to do anymore and I received a 94/100. I was very happy with this paper, mainly because I planned ahead of time on this specific topic, which gave me more time to write a well organized essay. In the following essay I did not have a problem setting up a strong thesis that would hook my audience, nor did I have a hard time setting up my three main points of this essay. What caused my paper to slack off was making lazy errors throughout my paper. For example, I had a few informal sentences that caused my body of the essay to slack off and hard for my reader to understand at times. My last main point of this essay was where I had an informal sentence. For example, I stated “my advisors and I agreed that the most important point to all this is keeping a well-rested schedule,” which is incorrect. Instead, I should be well-rested, not the schedule. Also, I stated “hitting the books” in one of my sentences, which would as well be considered an informal sentence because it brings in slang. Taking this part out would help my essay be formal. Simultaneously, I made a few spelling errors that were overlooked when I was revising my paper. This didn’t really harm my overall grade but needs to be taken accountable when final exams come around. Considering I made some informal mistakes in my sentences and had some misspelled words, my overall essay was well organized when it came to a strong thesis, well formatted body, and strong conclusion. These three parts of my essay allowed for my reader to overall well understand where and what I was hoping to express in my final essay.
