My most recent essay, Response Paper on Online Privacy, was not well executed. I ended up not getting a very good grade. There were a lot of mistakes from the beginning to the end of my essay. My most weak part of this essay was the Purpose category. I received a 2/4 for having a weak and poorly stated thesis, having a slight awareness of the topic, and my reader had a vague idea as to what to expect. I noticed that I did not have a strong thesis, and this affected catching my readers attention. Also, I needed to identify the author’s opinion, but as well as state my own opinion towards online privacy. Stating both, the author’s opinion and my own opinion was the most important part of this essay, which took points from my essay. Another important point I crucially missed was identifying the sources, instead of saying “these articles”. Other than not properly executing my opinion, the author’s opinion, and identifying the sources, I had a lot of small mistakes. For example, I missed a lot of capitalization, specifically names of something. In addition, I missed and or did not need to use commas in certain areas throughout my sentences. This gave my paper a weak and fragmented body when I was stating important facts. Next time, I will need to specifically revise and look for commas needed or not. With my next and final essay coming up, I will need to properly hook my audience, have a strong thesis, support my information, and get rid of small mistakes like capitalization. Doing all this will not only make my essay much more stronger, but it will be well organized and easy to read and or understand.
