The question to this entry is ” why are you interested in cybersecurity technology” and being honest that has been a question that I have been asking myself since I officially declared for this major. Since I was a child I was always interested in technology and cybersecurity but it was something hard for me to visualize myself doing that because nobody in my family or that I know is in that line of field. When I turned 10 playing my game system I met some friends who were doing things like hacking and jailbreaking things so when they finally showed me how to do it I’ve been interested ever since. As they were teaching me more and more I was able to learn how to do things on my own so, I tried to jailbreak my iPhone and it was a great success. As the year went along more and more I learned more things about technology and hacking so I tried doing bigger and better things like trying to hack my computer but sadly that was a failure. After my terrible failure at trying to hack my computer, I took a break from trying to do these things and attempted to learn how to boot people offline and figure out things like IP addresses and make their routers go slower. Learning how to boot people was slightly complicated because they have apps and things that can cover people’s IP so if they had a good one it would take forever to do it. Booting people was fun because I would do it to the people who would talk trash on PlayStation or say terrible things to other people. Once I turned 15 I stopped booting and hacking people because I did not play the game as much as I used to but, when I was deciding my major I just remembered those good times and just thought to myself why not help people companies prevent from things like that happening to their company and that’s how I decided my major and why I am interested in cybersecurity/technology.
