In the tech world, engineers have a major role that constantly changes because technology gets more advanced day by day. Cyber security engineers perform multiple tasks to make sure our networks are safe against cyber threats. One task that cyber engineers must do is performing assessment and penetration tests on the systems. Another task that engineers have to complete is the development and implementation of secure network solutions. These 2 tasks are very important in keeping the network and systems safe because if they are not done it leaves a lot of vulnerabilities in the network and in the system. Another task that has to be done is to manage audit/intrusion and security technology systems. The last thing that most cyber engineers are asked to do is to engineer trusted systems into secure systems. This helps make the systems and networks more secure and less vulnerable to cyber attacks. In the year  2017, there were more than 100,000 job openings for cyber engineers and within that same year it grew 3 percent but in the year 2018 which was also a major year for technology, there were 300,000 job openings which shows that more companies are turning to more of the technology side of doing business. There are certain qualifications that an engineer must have to be able to do the job efficiently. One of the qualifications that they must have is an understanding of cybersecurity methodologies. Another qualification they have to have is knowledge of cybersecurity trends and must be knowledgeable of hacking techniques. They must also be able to evaluate system changes and be able to give recommendations for improvements in security. This is a very important job and is always on the hire for new, younger employees so that they can stay around and work longer for the company and work to perfect the system.
