I thought cell biology was a very informative and interesting class. This was a class that I thoroughly enjoyed learning about. I had many questions when I first started this class, but now I have more knowledge than I expected to gain. It was important for me to really understand everything that was taught about cells because I want to have a career in the medical field one day. I think the workload was reasonable. I think that all the quizzes, smart biology, packback, research papers, and the eportfolio was to really to enforce all the material we were learning. I enjoyed watching all the videos through smart biology. Packback made me learn to ask more questions and become more curious. I like how we were able to apply things in this class to our everyday lives. The research papers made me think critically. We had to use critical thinking to be able to understand the research and explain how it was related to things we were learning about in the class. The eportfolio was something that we can look back on and see some of the things we learned. Many classes are usually just power points and exams, but this class felt like it had many different options to help you understand the material. When I first signed up for this class I wasn’t sure what grade I would get, but that I would try my hardest to get an A. My grade has been an A all semester. I have different study techniques depending on the class. I always promise myself that I will figure out the best way as early as possible and use it for the semester. One thing I wish I could have done differently was found more time to work on the research papers. This was my first semester at ODU and my first time taking an online class at ODU. I took five science classes this semester which were organic chemistry lecture and lab, genetics, ecology, and cell biology. I also worked the whole semester and joined the Pre-Health club. If there is one thing I could go back and tell my past self it would probably be to not do all of this at once. Overall this class exceeded my expectations and gave me a good foundation.
