Cyber technology has impacted the relationship between offenders and victims in a negative way. There are always going to be individuals involved committing the crime and individuals involved that gets harmed as the result. Before technology advancements, crimes were committed physically. This led to humans becoming more aware of their surroundings outside rather than also protecting their stored personal information. Crimes were easier to catch and monitor when the internet wasn’t so advanced. As the world transitions into a cyber world everything is transitioning into digital. Activities included in your daily routine will include using a device. Rather you are using it for GPS to get to work or utilizing it to clock in and out for work, it still requires a network connection. Where you store your data and how you are securing it is important to keep in mind. Cyber-attacks increased during the pandemic due to everything being forced virtually. Data files and personal information was being shared over the internet when communicating with one another and working from home has caused attacks whether it was intentional or unintentional. The best way to keep these attacks down is to educate ourselves on what can happen if individuals didn’t put in effort to protect their information. Cyber criminals are working daily to find ways to damage and attack companies or individuals. Cybercriminals commits crimes by stealing, scamming, and sabotaging and with criminals always being around there will always be victims. To ensure safety individuals must become more attentive of what’s going on around them and take the necessary actions to secure themselves.
