Ethical issues that arise in technology includes how we handle customers data, how we use information, how we engage with the employees, and how we approach sustainability. This plays a role in how successful or unsuccessful a business will turn out to be. Businesses need to make strong critical decisions to make to sure that they are protecting the customers and using the data appropriately. Ethical values are ensured to keep a relationship between technology and the user. To keep the respect towards the employees and customers is important because they are valuable to the business. Without employees and customers there wouldn’t be a business. Employees must be knowledgeable about protecting customers data as well because they area reflection of the business. Once a business   maintains the trust and loyalty with the customers the business will strive even more. Data is the ultimate most important piece of value within a business and should be used appropriately. Businesses may use some of their customers data for marketing purposes and to enhance their products. On the other hand, that can be seen as an invasion of privacy. Making sure there are data policies and procedure for data protection will help decrease the abuse of using data inappropriately or having it leaked out. Businesses commonly uses third-party vendors. If data is leaked, who do you put the responsibility on? The business? Or the third-party vendor? All in all, everyone share responsibility. To see improvements in protecting confidential data, everyone must work together. Ethical issues in technology will continue to rise without practicing and solving ways to prevent such issues. The more knowledgeable employees and customers are, the better we can all work as a team to protect eachother.
