There are multiple types of engineers that secure the cyberspace, the job of an engineer is to ensure the safety of the cyberspace that we use, network engineers use routers, firewalls, and different network monitoring tools to do their job. While also making the current networks safe for use, network engineers also make new networks, this is an essential key to their jobs because with a new network, a hacker will have to learn that network to infiltrate it. Engineers also watch for different patches within a network to ensure the safety of the system. As cyber-attacks become more prevalent each day, engineers work together to stop and track down cyber-attackers so that they can do no more damage to the network that they are breaching. Engineers are also responsible for recognizing different trends within a network to stop a breach from happening. Engineers also install different equipment inside companies to help them monitor the different activity that is on that network. Protocols and rules are also done by the engineers, it is a part of their responsibility to collaborate with other sectors of the company to ensure that the protocols and rules have been set. When engineers make this new network, they are to ensure that it’s up to the company standards and that the company can still conduct the business that is needed. With this comes different teaching moments for the engineer, it may not be on the list of their job description but if they are to include something different on the new network they are to let it be known and should be able to answer any questions about the network to ensure that the employees can do their jobs. Engineers are known for doing a lot of things for the cyberspace, and have made it a safer place for people and companies to use.
