Chemical principles follow us through our everyday lives, from food preparation to complex studies in the environment. Everything that is around us involves the use of chemistry. Matter is the physical material of the universe that has mass and occupies space. The property of mass lets us distinguish from the different characteristics the particular type of matter and the other types like it. Brown (2015, p. 2)
