Coding has always grabbed my attention more than anything as I have grown older. When I was in middle school I would attend coding summer camps to get knowledgable on video game design, which was my major coming to ODU. After some work in that field I did not like it as much as the projects I would work on with cybersecurity classes. Since then, I changed my major to enterprise cybersecurity. This major allows me to cover information in business and cybersecurity and business, which are two important lessons to know for the rest of my life. Cybersecurity has always fascinated me and made me feel in control of my own work. Developing knowledge on certain codes for constructing security has made me realize that I needed to switch majors to this type of study. I think cybersecurity will benefit me in the online and real world, which will also allow me to get into some great jobs that will be high paying and entertaining for myself. I enjoy creating something that will prevent obstacles from getting in the way and that is exactly what cybersecurity is as a basic definition. In high school I went to a class every Monday that would educate me on cybersecurity and the functions used in the subject. This class peaked my interest and also gave me a lot of knowledge on cybersecurity. Ever since then I have been wanting to find something with coding to use my skills with. At first I went with a game design major because it requires coding and I love playing video games, but it did not fit quite right with me. After my realization that game design was not for me I thought of changing majors to cybersecurity, which I feel will suit me better because of the coding I did in high school for it. I hope to learn a lot of important and new information in this class. I also hope to use the best of my knowledge and abilities to get through this class with an online class. Overall I think that this class will give me the education I need to follow through with cybersecurity and to pursue what I love to do most.
