1. Select four other majors offered by ODU and explain how those majors relate to cybersecurity.

Many majors are related to cybersecurity that do not seem so obvious but are extremely useful in different actions. Four majors that I would consider the most closely related to cybersecurity includes, computer science, criminal justice, computer hardware engineering, and IT majors. Computer science is the study of technology and principles of a computer, which can help people identify computer parts and how they work. Not only does computer science cover parts of a computer, but it also covers types of networks, databases, as well as hardware or software. Since computer science is directly related to the functioning of computers then it is related to cybersecurity in ways of structure. By understanding and identifying the components and systems in and outside a computer this major can take a look at the networks and systems that are being attacked and finding the perfect solutions for safety and security. Criminal justice is known as the procedures and policies that are put in to play before, during and after a crime is commited. Cybersecurity has a main goal of preventing attacks and crimes from happening, which is performed by the criminal justice response system known as computer forensics. The justice response system works at identifying network files like emails and data through social media. Computer hardware engineering is the development of systems and components, learning the ins and outs of the hardware. Cybersecurity encompasses aspects of this major because it correlates with the use of hardware and identifying information regarding hardware configuration. IT majors is identified as the use and study of computer systems and telecommunications. IT majors are focused on the transmission of information through computer systems. Cybersecurity focused on infrastructure of networks and information regarding cyber threats or other actions. All four of these majors are related in their own ways to cyber security, but incorporate the same type of tools and objectives of one another.
