starting at 1 revenge, 2 political, 3 recognition, 4 entertainment, and 5 boredom. I rank them like this because it feels like some motives have a stronger connection to the actions people take online. Starting with revenge it makes sense that if someones feels hurt or disrespected they might want to lash out especially if its taking place online where they can hide there identity. Also most people first instinct i revenge.Political people get passionate about political issues and might use cyber means to express their views or fight against something they strongly disagree with.Recognition, a lot of people want to feel important or acknowledge.being part of groups like hackers can give them that sense of belonging. entertainment, some people just get bored and need something to do thats fun and do something risky like hacking dumb things. last boredom, this is the least compelling motive to me because while it can lead to some actions it seems more like a last resort when someone doesn’t have anything to do.
