Cybersecurity as an ever-evolving field of technology has made new ways for people to exploit their workplace. From minor issues to company embezzlement new opportunities have been made to do such things, I won’t say it is any easier or harder to do these actions but there are new ways to cause issue than there was twenty years ago. For example, something as simple as getting frustrated and walking away from your computer while it is still logged in deviance because it is leaving the system open to attack should someone use the available computer to access the system. This may not be on purpose but the employee that walked away has caused an opportunity for security to be breached. A simple fix for this would be better training or having a short log-out timer on the computer. There could also be malicious deviance that an employee could create a security breach so they can then steal from the company, such as stealing funds or embezzlement. This could be done in a few different ways such as taking small, almost untraceable, amounts of money from the profits the company makes for personal use. This could also be done by asking the company for money to do a project and then pocketing the money for oneself. Im not sure how that one would end but I’m also sure someone has gotten away with it. All of these examples become easier with computers because all you need is access to some form of bank account relating to the company and a reason to transfer money to your own account. The actual deviant act done depends on the mind of the person themselves and how creative or desperate they are. It is up to the company to understand these risks and handle them, this involves also producing measures to make sure these opportunities don’t happen again
