The
present investigation employed a comprehensive methodology that encompassed qualitative, descriptive,
and analytical techniques. The primary sources of data for this study were a variety of legal documents
and scholarly literature. Using its inquiry, this research study clarified the crucial function that artificial
intelligence (AI) performs in the field of law enforcement. This function includes identification of
criminal activities and patterns, prediction of recidivism, sentencing processes, release decisions, arrest
procedures, and the capture of suspects using sophisticated audio analysis techniques.

Introduction
Digital criminal investigation is a sophisticated type of investigative process that uses several computer
science applications, such as mathematical tool validation. It finds and stores digital evidence to make
investigation processes easier. It is also referred to as digital forensics. Digitally enabled criminal
investigation, which began to take shape in the middle of the 1980s, has firmly established itself as a vital
tool for national security, law enforcement, and the verification of legal procedures. This specialized field
is closely linked to the methodical gathering, examination, and extraction of digital evidence obtained
from electronic devices, with the main goal being its prudent use in court cases.

Research Methodology
The current study utilizes a qualitative research approach to explore the possible incorporation of artificial intelligence in the field of digital criminal investigations. The goal of this qualitative research project is to create a theoretical framework that will allow artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to be applied in the context of criminal investigations while taking into account the technological aspects of digital and investigative research methods. As such, the research methodologies used in this work include descriptive, analytical, and qualitative research. This study used the “scientific research method” and the “normative juridical research method,” two well-established approaches in the field of legal studies, to collect data.

Literature Review
Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques can be applied in several ways to help law enforcement fight
cybercrimes. Artificial intelligence (AI) tools like machine learning, neural networks, artificial
intelligence (AI), computational intelligence, data mining, pattern recognition, fuzzy logic, and heuristics
have all proven to be very beneficial in the detection and prevention of cybercrime. Artificial Intelligence
(AI) integrated tools have proven beneficial to legal agencies and crime prevention units. Neural
networks, for example, aid in the detection of Denial of Service (DoS), computer worms, spam, malware,
and forensic investigations. The intelligence agencies use AI techniques like heuristics, data mining,
AISs, and some IDSs to help them look into suspicious cyber activity algorithms are used by
cybersecurity organizations to investigate different fields of forensic science, such as DNA analysis.

International Journal of Cyber Criminology.
