SCADA Write-Up
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition also known SCADA are systems used for
controlling, monitoring, and analyzing industrial devices and processes. The system allows for
both on-site and remote data collection from industrial equipment and is composed of both
hardware and software components. SCADA is a supervisory system that gathers all the
required data about the process. The device that a human operator uses; the operator receives
all processed data.

How does it work?
Scada is made up of three main system components. They guarantee the information is
transferred from the equipment that is monitored and where data is analyzed and used for
reporting. The Architecture is the Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs) or Remote Terminal
Units (RTUs). These are what you call microcomputers that interact with equipment (also called
field devices) on the one hand, and HMIs, which are Human Machine Interfaces.

Why is SCADA important?
Scada benefits in many ways. They optimize production and control the production according
to regulations in the industry. In a lot of cases, SCADA systems are used to also troubleshoot
purposes, securing production flow requires a lot of maintenance without a lot of mistakes.
Employees had to supervise, manage, and respond to new problems as they arose. Not only
was this expensive, but the staff members might be in danger.
