Journal Summary #2
I feel like as the semester has gone on I have developed into a better writer all the way around. I have became more comfortable in areas I wasn’t. I really learned a lot by preparing to write the big mid term paper a few weeks ago. Obviously the longer you work at something the better you will get at it. The same applies in the classroom by putting all effort into the class, you will see slow improvements in your writing just as I have. It hasn’t been easy, I really have had to sit back and really pay attention more then I did in high school. College does things way different then high school ever did which is a major curveball for freshman. Looking at subordinate conjunctions and etc. was stuff that I wasn’t familiar with as much as the basic stuff. By working with them closer I have started to be able to notice them more and when they should be used. Its stuff like that, that you pick up on as the course goes on and gets more in depth. I will not lie I really was unsure about them when we talked about them in class at first, but I have put the effort in to learn. Another thing is I have been more on top of my assignments for this class. The first couple of weeks, I missed the turn in dates and put myself and my grade behind the eight ball. Its been tough but I have worked hard to get back on track to give myself a chance to pass this class with a good grade. It took a lot of work but the main thing was just turning in things on time. This part of the class has been improvement for me and I hope to continue.
